Below are some noteworthy dates, while these may not be official holidays or days off, we want to recognize the significance they hold and share with you a fun fact about those upcoming days.
Veterans Day, November 11
Originally called Armistice Day, it was renamed Veterans Day in 1954 to honor all U.S. military veterans, not just those who served in World War I.
Thanksgiving, November 28:
Observed on the fourth Thursday in November, Thanksgiving is a holiday for giving thanks and celebrating with a feast that often includes turkey, stuffing, and pumpkin pie.
Black Friday, November 29
Taking place the day after Thanksgiving, Black Friday marks the beginning of the holiday shopping season, with major retailers offering significant discounts and promotions.
Christmas Eve, December 24
In some countries, such as Germany and Sweden, Christmas Eve is considered the main day for Christmas celebrations, with festive meals and gift-giving occurring on this night.
Christmas Day, December 25
The tradition of decorating Christmas trees dates back to 16th-century Germany, and the first recorded use of electric Christmas lights was in 1882 by Edward H. Johnson, a colleague of Thomas Edison.
New Year’s Eve, December 31
Held on December 31, New Year’s Eve is a time for celebrating the end of the year and welcoming the new one with parties, fireworks, and resolutions for the coming year.
